GLOBAL Vol.10 No.1 (May- November 2010)


       After vacuum of activities for period of 2 years, Journal GLOBAL Vol. 10 No.1, May-November 2010, has launched by Department of International Relations (http://www.ir.fisip.ui.ac.id/), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia, bringing the general theme of Disaster and Contemporary International Relations in which very relevant to the recent global phenomena that exposing about so many [natural] disasters happened all over the world.
        For long period, in the international stages, environmental and disaster issues was not popular issues to be resolved seriously and comprehensively compared to political, economic, and security that perceived as the more important issues. By the time, at the moment environmental and disaster issues can not be belittled by world leaders, and all human all over the world have to be more respect to this very urgently condition of this blue planet. All kind of disasters because of both natural powers and human factors are strong indicator that international policies should be considers environment and disaster as key elements in its decision-making process.
         Presently, the biggest challenges for human civilizations is natural disasters [not poverty issues or war issues that made by human egoism) in which it can not be predicted accurately even by advanced sciences or high technologies.
